Sierra is really hard on her afghans and loves them to bits, literally! This afghan was her second. I made it for her 5th birthday. She got a new one for her 10th birthday in December 2009!

This afghan was made 6 years ago also… for Sierra’s brother, Logan. Logan loves this afghan, but he has other loveys too, and is obviously not as hard on his afghan as his big sister has been! So how long do they actually last? That depends on the user!

Here is Sierra’s new afghan. She just turned 11 on Monday…wonder if her afghan will last until her 15th birthday?
I am going to try to figure out how to get some new pictures up here soon, but in the meantime you can find lots and lots of pictures of recent projects on facebook… just look up Bundled in Prayer and you will be able to see hats, shawls, capes, ponchos, afghans and more!
P.S. If you wish to contact me, please email at bundledinprayer@yahoo.com I am having trouble with the other email address and apologize to anyone who has attempted to contact me at the other address!
I realize it is odd to post a Winter slideshow in August, but this is the last of the pictures from my old blog! Enjoy!
Please note that I did not make the poncho labeled “By Grandma” (that is one that MY Grandma made for ME when I was 4 years old and I used it as an idea for the pattern on the green poncho that I made for my goddaughter, Savannah. I also did not make “Abbie’s sleeved poncho”. That is a store-bought poncho that my friend’s daughter has that is knitted with a crocheted border. I loved the idea of a sleeved poncho so I borrowed it to get some idea. The poncho I made for my goddaughter, Madison was the result!
I just finished an afghan for my sister (I will post pictures later) and am working on one for my Dad. After that I have another afghan for a special little girl named, Ella. After that I have no orders on the schedule. If you are interested in a BIP product please email me at bundledinprayer@yahoo.com!
My first goddaughter was born in December 2000. I wanted to make a very special gift for her and this was in the time frame before it was a given for me to start crocheting when anyone close to me said the word “baby”! But that is exactly what I did!

Here’s a picture of her with her custom afghan at just a few months old. Now, this afghan never became a favorite with her since it was made with just “regular” yarn instead of the beloved ultra-soft stuff I use now… so she got an all pink fluffy one a few years later (which I am told is nearing the need for replacement as it is so well-loved! ) But anyway, my oldest daughter, Kaitlyn called this blanket the rainbow sherbet afghan and I even ended up making one with the same colors for her at that time. (I think she still has it too).

When my fifth godchild (and fourth godDAUGHTER) was born in October I immediately got started on an afghan for her… same colors… fluffy yarn!

So, here it is… a rainbow sherbet Bundled in Prayer afghan for my new little goddaughter who joined her four older siblings and even from a long distance makes my heart sing!
Here are some of my most recent afghans, ponchos and shawls and a new addition to the line-up… “Loveys”. A mom approached me and told me how her baby cries and cries for her BIP afghan, but it is big and they don’t really like to let her take it in the car… so I made a miniature of her original afghan that was just big enough for her to take in her carseat. Look for it in the slide show labeled “Peyton’s lovey!”
This afghan was really important to Hannah. When a friend from MOMYS lost her daughter, Hannah begged me to make this afghan for her. It did not take much to convince me. Throughout the process Hannah insisted on praying along with me as I crocheted. It really touched me and I know that the recipient of this afghan will truly feel the love and the prayers that went into it. I pray that it may bring comfort to their family.
One morning I saw this lovely testimonial on the MOMYS forums I am a part of… from my friend, Cheryl, to me!
